Survivor Gabon Kicks Off First 2 Contestants

A brand new season of Survivor kicked off last weekend in Gabon.  This is the 17th season of one of the original reality shows and finally they have gone and done the season in HD!  I have to say that some of the landscape shots during the episode were nothing short of amazing, it is great to have Survivor in HD.

The new cast is hard to get a read on after only two hours of programming, but there are a few things that jumped out to me as the new season got underway.

- The teams being chosen at the beginning was one-sided, right away.  What were these people thinking?

- Randy hitting his head was nothing short of hilarious

- Our Olympic champion will have a hard time convincing her tribemates she won a gold after her performance on that hill

- GC being the “leader” and then imploding within 24 hours has him marked for elimination very soon

- Bob will be a fan favorite all season, and likely last long

- Marcus is a strong competitor, and really let it all hang out in the first episode.

- Gillian annoyed the crap outta me too, and I am not surprised she is gone.

More thoughts to come, but it is great to have Survivor back for another season.  If you want to catch up on episodes, you can watch them all online right here.
