Jonathan Penner dishes on his leg and more in an interview with RealityTVWorld.
In regards to his leg, he later learned that getting stitches were probably what led to the infection, and that he might have been better off without them. Shame on you, Survivor Medics! He also reveals that he was in fact in excruciating pain during that Reward Challenge that he didn’t want to sit out of.
Had Jonathan stayed, what would have happened? - Jonathan wanted to team up with Eliza and the Fans to ditch James and Parvati. He’s confident the plan would have worked.
Jonathan also dishes about why him and Cirie had so many issues, what’s in store for his future and more over at Reality TV World:
Jonathan Penner Talks About Survivor Micronesia

Malakal: Erik realizes that you can’t really trust the Favorites, as he thought that the vote had been decided on Chet. Tracy is now concerned that the Fans on Malakal outnumber the Favorites. She tries to recruit Erik, telling him that the ruthless Favorites will come for him next.
Reward Challenge: Collect planks, sticks and rope to build a blockade in the other tribe’s tunnel. Tear down your team’s barricade and climb through the tunnel. Winners get 2 native Micronesians to help them. Airai wins and Jonathan seems to be quite the trooper with his bad leg. Airai sends Jason and Chet to Exile Island.
Airai: The medic tells Jonathan that he needs to leave the game because his knee has gotten infected and it could possibly spread into his bloodstream. Jonathan agrees to go. Kathy cries for reasons that I cannot understand. James is now stuck with a bunch of girls, which concerns him. The Micronesians come with supplies and advice.
Malakal: Amanda thinks they don’t work well as a team. Ami has some empathy for the Fans.
Exile Island: Chet says one of the first accurate things of the game - he believes that Ozzy has already found the Immunity Idol. Jason disagrees and goes on a search, ultimately finding the fake idol, thinking it’s the real one. Poor Jason.
Immunity Challenge: Use stepping poles to transport two team members to a platform. Airai instead carries their two lightest girls on a single pole each, one at a time. Eliza easily gets across first and Parvati then falls on her first attempt, but still beats the other team starting again from the beginning. Airai easily wins.
Malakal: Chet claims he has puss in his foot and is a mess and asks everyone to vote him out, perhaps in an attempt to retain some honor (though everyone was going to vote for him anyway). Erik however sees this as an opportunity and tries to get some of the Fans to agree to vote for Ozzy. Ami says she would join. Chet really seems set on leaving…

Joel talks about being blindsided at Tribal Council, praises Cirie’s strategic move and discusses his regrets over at TVGuide:
Surprises from Survivor: Micronesia’s Latest Castoff
They also claim that he isn’t as much as a bully as the show made him out to be. Decide for yourselves…
Another week on the island. Here goes:
The Fans: The misfits revel in their successful rescue of Chet. Chet declares that he wants Jason gone next; Chet sure does harbor a lot of hatred for someone who contributes absolutely nothing to his tribe…
The Favorites: Everyone is ready to dismember and consume their chicken. Sadly, the violence is not shown on camera. I guess animals were harmed in the making of this episode. Ozzy tells Amanda, James and Parvati that he found the Immunity Idol.
Reward Challenge: Not yet. Time for new tribes!! As Jeff points out, it is no longer fans versus favorites.
Airai: Natalie, James, Alexis, Jonathan, Jason, Parvati, Kathy, Eliza
Malakal: Ozzy, Joel, Amanda, Erik, Ami, Tracy, Cirie, Chet
Members in tribes must form pairs and steal flags from the other tribes’ pairs, with the tribes taking turns doing the running and chasing for periods of a minute. There will be no Exile Island and we are playing for a delicious BBQ!
The Winners: Airai, and of course it is Chet’s fault, though Joel has no problem dragging him on the ground and banging his head into a tree.
Malakal: Joel points out the irony that he didn’t ditch Chet and he gets stuck with him again. Ozzy also declares Chet to be “a sack of potatoes”. Chet equates himself with chickens in a lovely metaphor.
Airai: Eliza thinks that Airai, the former Fan camp is kind of sucky. Jonathan is injured from the challenge. Medics come and prod him with needles and then sew him up.
Malakal: Joel, Erik and Ozzy discuss who will be ditched next, and the very careful Fan/Favorite balance (which could prove to be interesting since the weaker players are all Favorites), which Erik thinks is like super powers discussing terms. Amanda captures a shark!!
Airai: The Favorites fix up the camp. Glorious background music is played.
Immunity Challenge: Throw rocks to break tiles and release hanging puzzle pieces. Solve a puzzle that looks like a tangram.
The Winners: Airai come from way behind to take it. Eliza seems to be the puzzle master of the bunch.
Malakal: Joel thinks there is zero honor in keeping Chet on the team. How quickly he forgets who he voted for the previous week. Cirie starts with her scheming, because she quickly realizes that she too is one of the weaker players who is on the fast track to getting her torch snuffed. She wants Joel out.

The Boston Herald wrote an article about their own native that was just ousted from Survivor Micronesia, the one and only Mikey B (who I personally thought was hilarious).
Mikey B is convinced - especially now that he is gone - that “the fans have their chance of winning zero.” I tend to agree that the fans are currently the weaker tribe - at least as long as Kathy and Chet are still there - but things can obviously rapidly change.
Overall, Mikey B did not seem too bitter about things, mentioning that he “enjoyed every minute of it, but I wanted more” and would go back in a heartbeat.
He thinks Ozzy from the Favorites will win the whole thing, but is rooting for fellow fan Jason.

Enjoy the following recap of this week’s episode of Survivor: Micronesia-
The Favorites: We start with some awkward interactions between Cirie and everyone else. Jonathan and Cirie continue to fight while Cirie confronts Ami, who voted for her at the last Tribal Council. Cirie totally deserved it, but at the same time Ami voted for one of her own allies, which wasn’t very cool and reveals that she is not to be trusted.
The Fans: Some of the guys catch an eel. Natalie, who has yet to get very much screen time (seriously, who is she?) discusses how Chet is not useful. So does Mikey B.
The Favorites: They got to lay in the bed that they made, which includes playing with a sick Eliza, who some claim “is about to die”. The Favorites begin voicing their regrets and Eliza in turn declares that she hates them all.
Reward Challenge: Rescue coconuts with painted letters from an underwater cage and spell out a message. The prize: Food in various stages - from chicken feed to eggs to chickens.
The Winners: The Favorites, due to some smart playing from Ozzy, who primed additional cocunuts for rescue in addition to getting his own on his turn, get the easy win (spelling out the rather obvious ‘triumphant’ with the coconuts). They send poor Kathy to Exile Island once more, as well as Ozzy from their own tribe.
Exile Island: Kathy proves everyone else correct and reveals that she isn’t going to bother to look for the Immunity Idol. She claims to enjoy spending time with the Favorites and getting to know them. Ozzy goes and finds the idol without all that much trouble and then successfully hides it from a clueless Kathy. He then crafts a fake idol for somebody to hopefully find and attempt to play in the future.
Immunity Challenge: 6 team members must get into and then unlock a harness with the proper key and then manueveur together while still in the harness and collect necklaces. The necklaces have letters on them which again must be used to assemble a puzzle. They sure do like puzzles tonight…
The Winners: Favorites.
The Fans: Who to ditch? Annoying Kathy? Useless and annoying Chet? Tracy (who seems too normal to have banded with Kathy and Chet) wants her misfit buddies to stay. She thus emerges as someone who can make things happen and reminds Joel that he hates Mikey B and that her band of misfits will all vote for him; furthermore, if he can get one other person to, Mikey B will be done for. Joel and Mikey B had just formed a sort of frenemy relationship, but it might already be doomed…

…a recap of I Should Be Carried on the Chariot-Type Thing.
Ok, maybe it’s a little bit extreme to be paraphrasing Lincoln (with some minor substitutions), but the Favorites had some serious issues this week.
The Fans: We start off the episode with the first official enemies on the Fans’ end, Mikey B and Joel. I have to say, Joel is seeming like a grump in general…actually, a grump with a superiority complex. He seems convinced that he knows best and always seems to be dissatisfied with the actions of the rest of the tribe.
The Favorites: Already near the beginning of the episode, the Favorites are arguing. I love it when these people start accusing other people of being scheming as they are visibly scheming themselves. It’s beautiful…
The First Challenge: The tribes are playing for three items of their choice, which all will prove useful for their survival and comfort on the island. The task: transport 5 bags total (3 of your own and 2 from the other team) across a lagoon and retain possession of them all simultaneously. I have to say, these guys (and girls) play rough…pushing, pulling, body slamming, etc. Did you notice the many blurred butt cracks from those pesky, skimpy bathing suits?
The Winners: Favorites, though both tribes put up a good fight. They win shelter, a lighting kit and a survival kit (what’s that exactly…sounds vague). The Favorites choose their own Ami and the other team’s Kathy again for Exile Island. Luckily we don’t have to put up with too much Kathy footage while the ladies are on the island this time.
Night: A lovely juxtaposition of the Favorites basking in the glory of their win (remaining dry) and the dejected Fans getting a crappy night of sleep in the rain.
Immunity Challenge: 2 men and 2 women from each tribe have to hold up a net while everyone else tries to fill up the opposing team’s net with heavy coconuts (that look like footballs). It looked sort of like an islandy variation of the side-by-side basketball that kids play at arcades.
The Winners: Fans (and even Kathy managed to get some of those coconuts into the net)!
The Cirie Situation: So one of the Favorites will be departing this week, and as one Favorite astutely pointed out, Cirie is the swing vote of the week. This means that both alliances are doing their very best to court Cirie and guarantee her vote. Jonathan and his alliance want Parvati to go while James and co. want Eliza to go. Well, so they thought, until Cirie pretty much schemes them all into voting for Yau-Man in order for her to join their alliance.
Tribal Council: One word - tense. Cirie tries to be a diplomat and explains the she is doing both what is best for herself and for the tribe. Cirie and Jonathan fight with each other, because everyone pretty much already knows who has gotten the short end of the stick this time. Read more
